ADVISER TO ANN ARBOR CHAPTER
After graduating in 2015 with a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, & Neuroscience, Danny served as an AmeriCorps College Adviser in Flint. Currently, he works at the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor supporting first-year underrepresented minority, low-income, and first-generation college students. By being immersed in the front lines of public education, receiving guidance from a national non-profit affiliate, and seeing the implications of policy in an institution like a school, Danny eventually seeks to pursue an MPP degree. He became involved in Books for a Benefit after fully seeing that his work in higher education as detached from the greater fight for education inequity in Southeast Michigan. By serving on the non-profit side and overseeing the Ann Arbor chapter’s, he hopes to implement his previous practitioner knowledge into continued community partnership and meaningful praxis.
